I love Craigslist, I put up an add, and 24 hours later, I have 4 responses. I have 4 candidates for a new singer for my band, ofcourse we're gonna have to sit and jam with them first, get to know them a little before we make a solid decision. But, until that time, I'm gonna be holding a poll here with my favorite peoples of who YOU think sounds the best, I know who I like more than others, but I'm interested in what you guys think of these guys (and gal). Just to remind you of what we sound like: http://files.filefront.com/Black+Magic+Voodoo+Demozip/;10625357;/fileinfo.html Tony Yalda: myspace.com/tonyyaldamusic Charlie Blake: http://www.myspace.com/rudekitchen Takila Lauder: http://www.takilamusic.com/ Drew Holden: http://www.myspace.com/amphoma Be honest and fair!
Drew: Interesting voice. The falsetto he used reminded me a bit of Dave Gilmour. In "Power Trip" it sounds like he is straining a bit. I don't feel any power behind the voice. Takila: Beautiful voice! However I don't know if you can get the 70's rock, funk, soul out of her or not. Kinda of undecided. But the stage presence may be there. Charlie. Dig the voice. Could be very cool with the sound of your music. He's got my vote.
Charlie def. suits the band the best. Takila has the best presentation and if you could get it working you would def. pull something great out of it, it'd be a bit of a stretch that would be well worth it granted you actually got it to work. IMO it depends on the social energy. Drew def. has the most humble presentation, he doesn't give me the best of hopes for fitting your band, but he also doesn't flatter himself with what you see. For that alone I think its worth it to get to know the real drew and see how he works out.
Takila and Drew are my 2 favourites, Really enjoyed listening to both of them. But if i had to choose then I gotta say that I think Takila could really offer much more with her voice.
