Bunny hopping is UT and Quake, not CS. Well maybe a tiny bit in CSS. Counter-Strike was "knife attack running"
Never played CSS, played CS 1.6 only. But CS 1.6 was awesomesauce. Most balanced game ever, very good maps, every playstyle possible, awesome netcode... You could bunny hop in CS yeah to run faster and go to strategic spots but it was quickly banned. CS was very good in terms of admin coverage and all ! I think, as Enigma said, that it was much worse in Quake and UT tho. Rocket / Railgun guys bunny hopping all over the place... Talk about a mess. Dudes had weasel reflexes tho... Or aimbots
Yeah bunny hopping was 1.3 and prior in CS, but it was the fastest way to move. It was a diagonal jump as opposed to just jumping in a row. The only game I played religiously besides WoW.
Bunny hopping was actually in CS before 1.3 and can be seen in some of the old videos. Due to the old system of keeping momentum from the original Half Life engine.
