The first video game I ever played was Burger Time for the Intellivision. The game was released in 1982, but it must have been 1984 when I played it. I also was a huge arcade fan. I have no clue what arcade game I played first. It's a shame there are no more arcades. Kids today will never know how fun that was. I miss the days when a "game" was just a game and not a cinematic-immersive-hobbytime-experience. Seriously, FFS. Welcome to the future, my friends:
I think mine was either frogger or pong on the original atari home "console" in about 1983/84, first arcade I remember properly playing was green beret in one of the table machines (rather than a cabinet).
First shooter I got good at? Perfect Dark. It was like James Bond but with more style, storyline, cooler weapons and more fun.
should just make this into the first games of a genre you played thread. Shooter: Doom RPG: LEGEND OF DRAGOON, HELL YEAH!!!...........well technically pokemon but whatever Puzzle: Tetris MMO: Roman Arena, Wizard Arena, and Monsters Fighting.........they still exist sadly. Action/Adventure: Zelda: a link to the past Racing: F-Zero Fighting: Samurai Showdown Simulation: Pliotwings First PC shooter was actually Mechwarrior 3 and that game was beast.
My first online experience (and possibly first FPS online in general) was Quake DeathMatch. Still my most fond memories were in that game. Descent was excellent, was talking about that game last week.
Well Sheet! My first PC game experience was Duke Nukem. Good times spent sitting in front of that PC playing Nukem. Console game was Sonic The Hedgehog on the original sega genesis. I remember that my first MMO was Dark Age of Camelot, great game. First online FPS was Counter Strike, I wasn't really good at it but I still had fun. Good times. I might have to find a way to get the first Duke Nukem and play that for nostalgic reasons
Shooter: Contra RPG: Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Puzzle: would Pac Man be cosidered a puzzle? if not Tetris MMO: FFXI Action/Adventure: Double Dragon Racing: Pole Position (Atari) Fighting: Street Fighter Simulation: I dont know the name of it but it was at an arcade (Airplane simulation)
