Website issues while on cell phone

Discussion in 'Tech Talk' started by Ironjaw, Aug 18, 2014.

  1. Hey guys I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I have nothing but problems viewing the forums from it. It doesn't matter if I use the generic browser or chrome, after it loads a couple pages it continually times out and wont load pages.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Works fine on my iPhone.

  3. I just browsed around for 5 minutes to various pages and subforums and did not have any issue. Im even posting this from my phone right now. Must be a ROM issue on your phone.

Is this a new problem (did it just start today?)
when you view the page, in the adress bar does it say http:/// or https://

Odd, I've been viewing from my S4 for awhile now with no problems, but I am using Firefox as my browser.

  6. Its been going on since I started archeage so a couple weeks

    it says https://

odd first time it ever said: "this sites certificate is not verified." i accepted it. maybe that will help.

well we just put in the SSL certificate this morning and it gave someone an issue (his name is regis and it was his fault!)
if it's been going on for a while then it's going to be something with your phone.
I would go with Enigma's reply

  8. yeah, just did it again: "this webpage is not available internet could not load the webpage because www.xoohq.com took too long to respond. the website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your internet connection"

  9. I'll dick around with it, if nobody else is having an issue it must be on my end

  10. When I browsed around just now it did say https:// and popped up a warning page in Chrome. I just hit "continue anyway" and it worked fine the entire time I was browsing.

  11. Does it for me too

  12. If it is causing trouble on the site I can remove it. The SSL cert was really for the email server but I figured while we have it we might as well use it on the web server as well.

  13. I've turned on some proxy setting on the forums to make links and images look like they are originating here to help satisfy the outside sources problem. Let me know if that clears things up for you.

I just had it happen to me now.

All I did to get back to the forums was go to the homepage xoohq.com where I was suddenly logged out after being unable to connect. So I logged back in and everything seems fine now.

  16. https disabled with that cert. We don't want to look like a hacked site.

  17. yeah probably a good idea

  18. @Que, the site is broken for many of us now as of a few hours ago. When I type in "www.xoohq.com" it redirects me automatically to https://www.xoohq.com, which times out. If I remove the "s" myself and hit enter, it still redirects to the https route and then fails. I can use a specific link to this site to get through, but typing it in is broken for myself and a few other people. Also clicking from this site on one of those links that I just typed in this post will redirect to https too. Only this specific link that was given to me on Facebook works to get through: http://www.xoohq.com/forums/#supported-divisions.54

EDIT: the problem seems to be with Firefox or FF based browsers specifically, not sure about others but Chrome is confirmed working fine.

  19. firefox keeps trying to send people to the https site, i tried clearing my cookies but it still kept redirecting.

Chrome it works, but that may be because i hadnt already logged into the site when it was https with that browser

    cell phone no dice

  20. Everything checks out on the server end. FF must be remembering the 301 redirect somehow.
