I found this on Aionsource today:

    http://www.aionsource.com/forum/general-discussion/29893-choice-vs-problem.html

It's an interesting lecture on choice vs problem and their common misconceptions in video games. I enjoyed it and found it rather informative so I started looking through the creators other pieces and found this:

An absolutely fascinating depiction as to why most games suck and the great games very rarely ever get published.

Daniel has several other videos if I find anything worthy of listening/watching I'll edit this in the future.

Nice find. I only watched the video because my brain hasn't fully awakened yet.

Great hit on video games and choice vs problem setup. It is going to be really hard to get rid of problems ands go completely to choices, for every game is going to have to have a problem somewhere when it comes to pro-longing the game play.

His lecture on girl gamers was quite good as well, if any of you have ever tried to get your SO's to play with you, it'll make a lot of sense.

    great presentation..very witty.

This is similar to the change in cinema in the 60's and 70's...very very similar. Hell its exactly the same problem. But it changed..slowly..and we still have block buster movies with lousy story lines.

    The change will come....slowly.
