My 9800 GTX is messed up and i have had it over a year so no warranty. Which leaves me to buy a new one. I was looking at a NVIDA chart that compared them but I know about whats on the chart to ask you guys http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/NVIDIA-Chips-Comparison-Table/132 My budget is around $200-$250, could you guys steer me into what directions I should be going towards and not have to worry about upgrading it later Preferrably something that runs DirectX 11. I was thinking the GeForce GTX 465 perhaps? I am also open to Radeon cards too.
At the upper end of your price range I'd look at the Radeon 6950 or the GTX 560ti. It really comes down to what games you are looking to play. Some games play better on NVIDIA cards over the comparable Radeon cards (like the CoD games for instance) and vice versa. My suggestion is to check out the video cards' reviews at some place like Tom's Hardware. Figure out which one is better for the games you are looking to play. Then watch some deals sites for a good bargain.
i upgraded from the 9800gtx+ to the 560 TI superclocked Was a very nice upgrade and I am running everything i can throw at it right now maxed out. 2048 x 1152 resolution I got the EVGA version (only brand ill buy graphic card wise)
Still some speculation that at least a few models of AMD's 7000 series cards will be out for the holidays so if you don't mind waiting on the off chance that they do come out, you could just buy a cheapo card and wait for them as long as you don't mind playing at lower settings for a few months.
TheEPIC speaks the truth with a completely unbiased post. As Deadend said, AMD's 7k series should be out within the next couple months. That will be the hands down winner until Nvidia responds with its new "Kepler" cards. If you can wait then that would be best, if you cant then just look at reviews for the games you play between the 6950 and 560Ti Tom's hardware and Tech power up do some fairly good video card reviews. My one recommendation I just have to say that leans to AMD is because of video RAM. Games are taking more of it and if you plan to keep this card for a while then having 2GB of vram is going to work a lot better for you in the long run than 1GB of vram.

As far as I know BFG is now out of business so dont buy any of their graphics cards. "As of August 2010, BFG is in the process of liquidation, initially only for the GPU business but eventually expanded to include the entire company."
