So now LoTR sucks because it is F2P. Because we all know that all F2P games are not worth our time or even a glance at. :happy: Especially with P2P becoming more and more of a popular model then F2P as F2P games have been moving into P2P subscription models . It was all over conventions and how the----- /stopsarcasm . ANYWAYS I think this reinforces the information I've been gathering and all the chatter from developers and publishers at conventions that F2P is becoming the flavor of choice.
Have no problem with F2P games.. as long as they are fun and not useless piles of shit.. Which sadly most of them are.. Question is those that paid for lifetime to play LoTRO did they get their moneys worth?
I don't have a problem with FTP. I do have a problem with Korean grind fest mmos though. Which is what most people think of when they hear FTP MMORPG.
Don't worry ! You're still required to pay 15 bucks a month to grind in Lineage 2 L2Walker subscription not included though
Ya lotr was not very fun but my real problem with it was that all the classes where just boring they didn't stretch them selves at all. I'll probably fart around with it some just like i fart around in D&D once in a while but i have no real desire to put any real effort in to either of them. I more or less put this up so people that maybe thinking of picking it up because of all the hobbit movie news lately know if they just wait a few months its going to be free.
AH ya played the beta for like 30min I think. The whole dwarf women looking like 12 year olds and the dwarf males all looking like 40-50 year olds was kinda creepy. That's about all I remember from that one. ::x: _@:
WOW that picture brings back memories! I remember playing as a female dwarf in Lineage. It's where I started my mmo legacy and Rollen became my main name.
All you guys saying PvP sucked in this game... Any of you play PvP in the BETA? It fricking RULED! Massive castle siegies and amazing teamwork in both sides. PvP was the only reason for me buying the game, then when it turned out you gotta be high level to join... i shortly stopped. Its just not a good game Lotro... hard to explain why, its just too meh.
The PvP turned into a range-fest for the most part. It was fun playing a Hunter or Minstrel (healing) during PvP, but other classes weren't so effective IMO.
LoTR was a lot of fun for PVE, the "books" were so much fun just made you want to keep chugging along. I may just have to DL this and give it another try since I already have maxed toons, and AION hates me atm.
