    I need a new computer =)

My current PC is 6 years old and on the end of his life.

I want to compose a new one but i have no clue what to get. Have been out of the business for to long. I need everything new including screen, mouse and keyboard. Think i am going for Intel this time.

I got around €2000 to spend and i want a damn good one :D

If anyone can help me out i would appreciate it.

Alright. Ill set you up really nice :D

But, I know you cant order from Newegg. I can list parts from there and you can find them locally or online in places that sell to you if you want, or you can give me a couple websites you know that have a good range of parts

    Are you into overclocking?
If so, CPU and RAM? Just processor clocking? graphics card OCing? I know your probably out of the loop on what to do and limits of the latest tech but I could help you out there too. But if you dont want to then thats fine. Now days parts normally gain 500MHz-1GHz of speed from overclocking, so its a bit more than the older stuff.

Also, do you plan on keeping this another 6 years without upgrades? Im guessing by the price you probably want to and will need something with the performance to be gaming in 6 years still

Overclocker.co has a TERRIBLE selection of memory. Nothing they stock is good. Thankfully there are a couple somewhat decent places to buy memory (get 2 of these for a total of 16GB):

Dont need a RAM cooler with the new heatsink since it is a RAM cooler already

SSD (prices are cheaper for you so I was able to upgrade you to a 512GB SSD!!):

HDD (get 2 so you can have a backup drive to store backups of data on):

Total of everything after tax and shipping should be right around £2,000

Since the SSD was upgraded from a 128GB to a 512GB, that means you shouldnt really have to worry about space at all. You can install the OS, lots of applications, 4 or 5 big games, and store pictures and stuff on it with no problems.

Damn that looks nice. I am not into over clocking at all. Never done it and i don't have a clue how. So your saying socket 1155 is better as the 1366 ? And i also need a new monitor. I am still using a CRT xD

I just thought of getting a 1366 but like i said earlier. I have no clue at all.

But my main problem is the overclocking. I also don't know anyone that can do it.

Yes and no on the socket. 1155 is the "mainstream" where 1366 is the "enthusiast". However, 1366 is only better if you are doing multiple very high performance graphics cards. The only real difference is that the 1366 platform has twice as many PCI-E lanes. Which doesnt really matter for you.

The 1155 socket processors are actually much faster. An i7 2600k beats an i7 990x, and is far cheaper. Additionally, the dual channel memory on the 1155 is actually just as fast as the triple channel memory on the 1366. Is weird to think about, but the lower end platform is significantly better.

If you dont want to do a lot of overclocking or learn how to do it then thats fine. You should just go into your bios (on this new computer once its together) and set the CPU ratio to 44 and be done with it. That will give you a 1GHz overclock on all the cores and is incredibly easy to do. You wont have any issues with that and you dont have to learn what you are even doing to get it. Anything more than that and you will need to learn some stuff and do additional tweaking.

Sorry, I forgot about a monitor. You can drop the SSD down to a 256GB to save some money and then be able to afford the monitor. You should get one of these two. I recommend the 23" 120Hz monitor since it would be better for gaming. However if you insist on a larger screen then thats fine too and you can just get the one with a bigger screen:

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-029-AS&groupid=17&catid=1120&subcat=

and and HDMI cable to connect the monitor to the computer:

One thing to note on the parts I picked out. I dont know how much you care about noise? If you dont care then dont worry about it at all. But the three fans I picked for the CPU heatsink might be what some consider a little bit too loud. If you just were using one fan it wouldnt be an issue, but three fans running at 37dB might be too much. Now its not vacuum cleaner loud or anything like that, but it is slightly to the noisy side. Maybe about as loud as the air conditioner? Its hard to give a comparison since everyone is used to different things and finds different levels acceptable.

If you want really quiet stuff, just get all the fans the same as the lower RPM ones. Cooling performance wont be as good, but it would still be enough to get by. Personally, my fans are four times as loud as the ones I recommended but Im crazy like that.

i don't know if i can get all the parts in the Netherlands or what they will cost here. It will took a while to try find them all.

I also don't really get the whole fan and sink part. I have no clue how to even compose it all :p

Its a bit blurry now with double post of links. Should i follow the first post or second one.

And for fun my current specs:

    AMD athlon 3200+
    2gig memory on 200mhz
    Geforce FX 5700

But it still runs most of the stuff out there o_O

Follow the second one. The first post goes to a website that only sells to US and Canada. The second post sells to the UK and hopefully some other places like the Netherlands.

Basically with the heatsink and fans, it is a giant heatsink that cools your processor. You use this big one instead of the stock heatsink that comes with the processor. The stock one sucks and doesnt cool well, thats why we use a good aftermarket one. The heatsink is just a heatsink, and also needs fans to move air across the heatsink to remove heat. Thats where the fans come into play. This heatsink I picked out is so large, it can fit three 120mm fans on it! One of the fans goes on the horizontal part and blows downward, which also helps cool your RAM stick. Then two more fans attach to the vertical portion (one on each side) and blow air through the vertical portion of the heatsink. These two fans blow the same direction, so one pushed air on to the heatsink, and the other fan on the back side pulls air from the heatsink and pushes it to the back of the tower. There is another fan attached to the back of the tower (comes with it) that takes the hot air coming from the big heatsink and expels it from the tower into the room.

Your specs were good stuff back in the day, was pretty similar to what I used to run.
