From the authour of "Dungeons and Desktops" and the co-authour of "Vintage Games" comes an ongoing series featuring games of note and games of legend. Travel with Matt Barton through a tour of awesome games! http://www.youtube.com/user/blacklily8#p/u/108/1KybwxpRQNE The craziest thing though, I've played almost every single one of the games he's featured. Have you? Memories!!
The opposite, I've played only eight out of 90+. Duke Nukem (1), Zelda 64, Wolf 3D, DA:O, Starcraft, Lemmings, The Lost Vikings (briefly) and Myst.
I was pretty fortunate, I had a ColecoVision growing up and a friend of mine had an Atari 2600 and an Amiga 1000, another friend had a C64. I got a Sega Master system later and a PC, and eventually an NES. That and arcades, I used to love those like crazy. We also knew a guy that ran a pirate BBS that we used to get games off of from a 1200 baud modem hahahaha...Between those, that pretty much ran the gamut of 70s and 80s games...so I was pretty lucky I guess After that I was hooked...and...yeah...spent most of the 90s playing games. A wasted decade never felt so good.
Sweet channel! Just subbed. I've always wanted to know more about how vintage games/electronics were made. You should also check out MN12BIRD's channel. He talks about vintage hardware and reviews the games.
Best channel on you tube that would be Photonicinduction. watch a crazy British guy blow things up by over volting them. only on this channel can you see 300 kV on a TV set http://www.youtube.com/user/Photonicinduction
And now back to the op original post. Hey great find. Alot of those videos bring back great memories. It's funny to see how alot of cut screens of old are actual game play today. It is still amazing at how quickly things have progressed. I remember planescape annoying the heck out of me challenge wise.
A rather interesting channel. A good look at how the game has evolved in not only the graphical aspect but also game play and story telling as well. Good find.
