  1. A friend of mine has something called ATI 365 or something.. I am thinking he is talking about a 3650, if that is the case, is it any good?

Probably since the 9800 is like 2 years old now.

  5. Just after doing some quick searches on benchmarks of both cards, the 9800gt is a better card.

I just googled some reviews and compared their frame rates on the same games at the same settings.

  6. 9800's haven't even been out a year yet. Still very good cards.

9800s are renamed 8800s and soon to be renamed to GTS 240/250.

  8. 9800's are old, GTX 280's are new and in early Jan they are releasing 295's.

  9. some of us don't have $400 to drop on a new video card ever 5 months or whatever..

  10. This is my fave site for comparing computer hardware. The VGA charts give FPS and performance comparisons for all the various chipsets. Hope it helps on your search, I've been debating getting a (sorta) new card myself.

Yo cox, i have this card i have a ati hd 3650 1gig. and im playing it on a amd triple core 2.2ghz with 4 gigs of pc6400 and it performs great for me, imean i picked it up for only $80 and i get around 140fps in cod4 170fps in css and in GA i am getting around 120fps. and this is all on high settings. you know i like the card but right now i think on tigerdirect.com you can get the newer ati cards for around the same price the ati hd 4750 i believe. But as for your question i am happy with this card.

  13. Yeah, I saw it on Newegg for like 40 bucks or something.

is it the 256mb or the 512? i dont think you can get the 1gig that cheap. if its the 512mb you should pick it up tis a great price for a decent card.

  15. I want something near the top. I bought the 7900GS like last summer. So it was mid back then, but it did what I needed it for when I played wow and such. But now, I need something better, because the games are getting better.

So I am looking for something probably 150 bucks or less.

  16. For about $150 I would be on the look out for an ATI 4850. They are nice cards that aren't too hard on the budget.

Here's a nice one for about $150 (after the mail-in rebate).

There are other 4850's out there. If you want to pony up a few more $ you can get one with 1gb gddr3. The most important thing to remember is that the ATI cards do run hot. So, if you go that direction you want to get one with a good cooling set up. The one I linked to is supposed to be pretty good for cooling.

  17. I'm planning to upgrade my 7950GT OC SLI, and was so close to buying a 9800 GTX+ for about 200 bucks. But looking at benchmarks and such, the 260 may be the better value. It's a little more but has next gen features and is better in most of the benchmarks. Should also note that the power requirements for newer cards is far greater. I have a 600W p/s and it may not be enough to run a 260, or even a 9800.

Kyoji, you shouldve listened to me and got a 4870x2 instead of the gtx280.

  19. i have the same video card for like a year, its a 512 something and runs all my stuff great, i dont understand why people need to drop down money every other month for a new card ;(
