I have played HoN for awhile. Quite chummy with the devs (s2games) since Ive been with them through savage for years and years. So been around since BETA, don't really play any more I have swings of a few months then I get bored.
Aww. Wish I had a XoO buddy to play HoN with. LoL isn't my cup of tea, though I'll still play it every now and then.
Ive played LoL and I just found it shitty. It looks shitty, the maps look shitty, the pathing is shitty, the models look shitty. What the fuck are runes for (aka newbie shitty), the buy menu is SHITTY, no one talks in team or anything so shitty community, everyone acted like noobs so shitty (i went like 70-10 first game), some of the gameplay is just shitty (hiding in bushes lolwut). HoN is just more polished and less like amateur hour.
I feel like both games are teamwork oriented. You should always take into account though individual players skill for a team, as having a really bad player on a really good team would lead to some pretty bad performances.
I play HoN almost daily i play LoL a little. In HoN you have a more hardcore mindset with a lot of ass holes when you PuG but it does make you a better player calling missing placing wards of sight ganking the rune spawns etc. I like HoN better than LoL but thats just me.
I bought HoN the second it was out of beta thinkin all my buds were as well and then they all switched to LoL sooo now im playing LoL otherwise i would not be playing with my buddies
My brother, who's a longtime DotA player, plays HoN. I told him to play LoL. Here's how the conversation went: Me: "Why don't you play LoL, it's much better" Bro: "What's LoL?" Me: *facepalm*
