I hear people talking about playing it sometimes, and I'm just curious how many people we could get together to play.

  2. I might be interested, but that all depends on the time I have available.

  3. I would play :) (I dont' have time for ladders but I love hopping on now and then and playing some 2142 :) )

  4. Id play, its always good to get back into old games

  5. I still have my CD's somewhere here and wouldn't mind playing occasionally.

I think this is a good time to finally throw this bad boy on my laptop and maybe get some shots down range again!!! After I do my homework of course >.<

Still got it here on my shelf, would love to pop it back in and go for a ride with Jay again in one of the battle jeeps. XD

Id play it, if it wasnt the worst Battlefield game ever

  9. From what I remember, 2142 is actually just a mod over BF2.. so in essence youre saying BF2 is bad too? =P since all that's really different are skins, one play mode and neon tracers.

I liked both era's about the same.. but I'm also a fan of zomgbbqlaserbeams!

  10. nah, BF2 is WAY better that BF2142.

  11. I tend to disagree... 2142 isnt' just a mod as far as I remember, it's just wasn't a brand new game engine, so it was based on the BF2 engine. Pretty sure I read it was a tweaked version, and as they both preform different on my system that sorta makes sense...
It was buggy to start out, but the patches helped a ton and it's fun :)

It's slightly less "sim" like IMO and trades a bit of that for a bit more fun factor where you can take a few hits before ya die... On the other hand I find being a medic in BF2 way easier to rack up points just by tossing tons of med packs around.

If I had to rate all the BF games I would put Desert Combat first lol... and then BF2 (with the special forces unlocks) second, then 2142 slightly behind that, but ahead of BF2 without the spec forces unlocks... I didn't play bad company though...
1942 generic is dead last IMO.

Well, tonight I'm going to toss this bad boy on my laptop and see how I can do. I don't have my G7 anymore since it broke :( so I don't think I will play as well as before.

  14. its just for fun anyways ;) I am not great at these games ;) but I love to play them. (I was 1/2 decent at CS, but I played that a lot from 1.0 to 1.6 or whatever it was before it switched to source ;) )

Should we use Xfire or something? I don't normally log into it, but I could install it I guess.

I logged into 2142 last night and played for about 1/2 an hour, but couldn't find a decent server to play on but I tend to like the large servers with lots of people. ;)

Battlefield 2142 is best with a good amount of people for sure. It's not as much of a infantry map tactical game like CoD4. You need people to be effective in 2142.

I'm reinstalling it and will be willing to play some time next week.

I would love to play a few games with you guys, I really need a break from all the work I've been doing recently. Maybe I'll be able to join in during some of my free time one night ^_^
