I tried it again but it's still just as bad for optimization as before. The game is incredibly choppy and there is nothing in it that makes me fear for my life, might as well be playing the better version of this game, Wurm Unlimited. If any of you want to play Wurm let me know. Wurm is moddable as well...
@DARKTIDE!! Oh you were asking about still needing alot of peope. If you look at the map I linked of the server some of those Big circles(Those are tier 3 monument claims) are only two people.

Yes Wurm has terraforming, it also has a lot of things LiF doesn't, and I don't play Wurm Online anymore, only Wurm Unlimited since WU is moddable and I think the rules on the WO servers are bad (server rules like action timer speed and skill gain rate not rules like don't be a prick). I've put about 4000-5000 hours into playing WO and WU, steam says I have 817 hours into WU so I'm extremely knowledgeable about the game and can help anyone who wants to try it out. Just wanted to add a few more things. Wurm and LiF are very similar in a lot of ways, LiF was created by ex-Wurm players who were trying to make a Wurm clone but with better graphics and better PvP, those are the only two things that are better than Wurm, pvp and graphics, but they haven't been able to reach the amount of immersion that Wurm has. Wurm doesn't have the best graphics out there but I believe it's aged incredibly well and new models get added every few years anyways. I remember when bushes looked terrible and they changed them to look slightly better. The modding is where Wurm really distances itself from LiF though, the ability for server owners to take mods other players have made to transform their server into an improved version of Wurm Online is such a huge plus. Skill gain rates and action timers are quite slow on WO so it makes the entire game so much slower and certain mods that tweak how surface mining and digging work are massive quality of life improvements.
