    Hey everyone!

Doing my best to keep everyone informed on upcoming game information out there. So looking through XOO long history of badassness. I see that Planet Side 2 there was a huge Xen following and sense then there hasn't been that many FPS great games out there. (my personal thoughts then again i'm not a huge FPS fan)

So in this thread I will highlight Eternal Crusade, this is as much information I can find that is out right now. It should be a good summery for everyone to quickly look over.

    INTRO
Eternal Crusade is a upcoming over the shoulder shooter, that is going to focus on team based fighting. Its going to feature a in game store, and will be buy to play just like Guild Wars 2. Objective control, and all out bloody fun seems to be the running feature in everything so far that I have seen. As far the team at Behavior Interactive as shown off great pre-alpha footage on their twitch stream every Friday at 2PM EST GO TO THE TWITCH!! Where they answer questions, interact with the community and play the game a bit for everyone to see.

    PURCHASING
    THE GAME
Eternal Crusade will be available for digital purchase, with a free-to-play option they like to call “Free-to-Waaagh!”. By purchasing a copy of the game, you will have access to it forever with no need for a subscription. There will be post-launch expansions as well as a cash shop for aesthetic customization and side-grades.

You can see a break down of all the pre-orders here! Then if you really like what you see you can purchase a pre-order here!

If you don’t want to buy a game key, you can still try the Free-to-Waaagh mode and play Eternal Crusade as an Ork Character. In contrast to the premium Ork progression, some options will be locked off, but you’ll be able to go anywhere and fight for the Waaagh! If you like it, but don’t want to pay the full price, you can unlock some of the missing options with micro-transactions.

    Gameplay

Questing will not happen in the traditional sense. Instead of looking for quest-givers to give you things to do, you can just head out into the world to find Hive or Lair content in your own or the enemy’s territory. You’ll be able to have missions and objectives assigned to you, as part of their campaign system.

I'm pretty sure that Behavior Interactive is currently working on short, horde-style firefights and longer hold-exploration experiences. The content is randomized so it’s new every time, but with parameters and details specific to the locations according to one of their live streams.

Of course, you can always look to the our community channels if we decide to turn this into a game group and the faction leaders in game to get some direction. In addition, there are mid- and long-term opposed goals for factions that appear on a regular basis as part of the ongoing server-wide campaign system.

    PVP

The PvP gameplay of Eternal Crusade takes place primarily in an open world, without any instancing. The PvE game modes take place in instanced areas, below the surface of the planet, but you will need to find them in the open world to enter. There may be further use of instancing in the game, but it should generally be the exception rather than the rule. There will definitely be instanced areas for players to role-play in, display trophies, and decorate or customize—ships, housing, etc.

As the four armies clash on the surface of the planet, the (NPC) High Command for each army receives intelligence and set objectives to act on. Campaign objectives are always opposed by at least one other faction. These grand clashes rage across one or more of the continents on the surface for a set period of time.

When the High Command receives new intelligence, they change their objectives and focus their efforts into a new campaign on a different continent (or continents). The results of the previous campaign will be meaningful and lasting, and some campaigns will be heavily story driven, helping to uncover more about the lore of the universe and the planet itself.

    PVE

Eternal Crusade is a game primarily about player-run factions clashing against each other for control of the planet. However, there are other ways for players to contribute to their faction’s conquest. To that end, we’re targeting two PvE game modes for launch; tentatively known as Lairs and Hives.

In Lairs, you and your friends will crawl through the procedurally generated ruins beneath the surface of the planet. Never the same twice, Underworlds will test your teamwork and your skill as you carefully conserve health and ammo to delve as deep as possible, slay foul threats, and unearth powerful rewards. This gameplay is inspired by classic ARPGs like Diablo II and Left 4 Dead.

In Hives, you and your friends will drop into a Tyranid Hive and hold out as the ravenous alien hordes rush you in increasing waves. Similar horde mode game types can be found in Space Marine and Mass Effect 3.

Both PvE modes will allow you to earn contribution to your faction’s cause, and your faction will reward you appropriately for your efforts!

The Tyranid threat spreads and Capillary Spires burst out of the ground, conquering outposts and strongholds. Each faction must do what they can to flush the Tyranid threat out of their territory or risk losing it to the Great Devourer—a along with any benefits that come with it!

Naturally, owning more territory draws more attention from the Tyranids, but these ravenous monsters are a threat for every faction to manage as campaigns go on.

    Combat

Even though Eternal Crusade is an MMO in a persistent open world, the combat plays out like a proper third-person shooter. You point where you want to shoot or strike and hitting your target is based on skill. There are no ability bars or auto-attack systems, and if you want to evade or block an incoming attack, you press a button to roll out of the way or hold down the guard button.

At the same time, Eternal Crusade is a tactical experience with an RPG system, so positioning, teamwork, and your choice of wargear are also key components to victory. You may be an amazing shot with your Stalker Bolter, but when a Havoc has you pinned down and Raptors are advancing, you’re going to have a tough time maintaining that defensive position!

Like many action games these days, an underlying RPG system affects how you fight in a variety of fashions. This includes the obvious methods such as modifying your health or the damage when you strike, but character and weapon stats can also change the way you shoot or swing.

For example, you can aim in any direction and fire away, but the spread on your shots comes from a variety of factors, including what kind of gun you’re using, its upgrades, and your characters accuracy stat. Your spread may increase while moving and decrease while zooming with a scope, and the extent to which these modifiers affect you may themselves have their own stats! Melee weapons are similarly affected, with the force on an attack compared against the stability of the victim to determine staggering, knockback etc.

Each faction has a set of primary classes (the number may vary on faction) and, depending on how you build your load out (accessories, weapons, items, etc) for that class, there are a multitude of possible specializations. Eternal Crusade is also a massive tactical war game so not every specialization will be equal when going toe to toe with each other – you should either bring friends to make up for your weaknesses or deploy your loadout in the circumstances that favour your specialty.

Since you can change classes and loadouts whenever you deploy to the field, you’re not locked into your choice for hundreds of hours or anything (though that’s not to say all the choices you make in your progression will be easy to reverse).

Certain classes (such as Elites) have a resource cost associated with spawning them and exceptional players can earn access to hero classes as well. A given player’s opportunity to use these characters is limited and they must be supported on the battlefield, but with their power and ability to enhance the capabilities of primary classes those around them, they can turn the tide of war. Of course, killing a hero is also an exceptional action that shall be rewarded.

    Vehicles!

There has has been two vehicles displayed on the live stream so far. Both need 5 people to fully operate, but if you are solo you can swap back and forth between the different seat with a push of a button! So no need every single time to grab up a small force to use vehicles fully ready to rock and roll.

    [IMG] [IMG]

    Character Customization

You’ll pick what unit class type you want to bring to the battlefield and have access to a huge amount of customization, but since this is a PvP-focused game the progression won’t be primarily about increasing power, but rather gaining access to a wider variety of skills and better specialization.

Before you get to the field, you’ll create loadouts for your different classes, made up of weapons you’ve earned, and accessories you’ve unlocked. Your progression, however, is generally horizontal – the more powerful an item is, the more “points” it requires from your loadout in order to keep PvP balanced.

With a few exceptions, each character generally has access to both ranged and melee attacks at any time. For example, if your assault unit has sword, axe, or power fist in one hand, they’re going to have a pistol in the other.

There are exceptions, of course. Heavy guns prevent you from having much melee capability, of course, and if you choose to equip a thunder hammer and a storm shield then you’re not going to have any ranged options in your loadout. But your average soldier on the field is able to do both in some capacity.

Depends. Between Crowfall, Camelot Unchained, and tons of other games I don't know if I see XoO playing a ton. It is still very early in development and a spin off of the failed MMO. I'll believe it when I see it at this point but that goes for most games I am excited about.

Ah they gave up on the WH40K MMORPG ? Damn, it seems that Games Workshop franchise is cursed or something...

Don't know about this game, can be good, can be bad, can go the PS2 way or the Tabula Rasa way... As for factions, well, imperium... Space Wolves or Blood Angels are an of course. I hate Chaos and Eldars are kinda weak minded. If Dark Eldars or Tau were in the game, that'd be different.

If anything, I think Games Workshop has a very bad taste in their mouths after WAR.

Its none of their faults tho, really IMO it was no one's fault but blizzards. After the lawsuit and the undisclosed amount of money that was rewarded to the people who made the game. Who needed to continue on with the development and so on.

It was something that they sunk alot of time into and money into. Maybe with seeing how this plays out and a call for something MORE like WAR and so on. That the WH40KMMO will actually come back into reality.

(then again I have always been a WH fanboy so my thoughts may be bias.)

Hm it's not so much that WAR sucked but every franchise they have are badly done (Bloodbowl, warmachine tactics, etc...) the only company that did good GW games was Relic and they went Bankrupt along with their parent company... No more Space Marine, no more Dawn of War...

Maybe SEGA and TCA will do a good Warhammer Total War.

It is in the same state as CU, Crowfall, and Star Citizen. The engines are slowly coming together with assets but is there really any point to following a game that is going to be out in a year or two time?

I watched the live stream today. The other races was in it. It looked amazing. It was so much like PS2 that it was sickening with faster combat too.

I don't know how many people are interested in this. I think tho, that it is shaping up to be a solid title.

    Right, so as of 13/9/2016

---> This game is terrible <---

Its being released in a week and a half, sent to die by its publisher.
If you've played WK40 Space Marine multiplayer, then you know the crap your in for... except with 32vs32

Crashes galore, half the teams getting dropped, after which the server cant repopulate for some reason.
Terrible tick rate ( if your some one who ever complained about how it takes 12 rounds to kill a guy in PS2 but he can kill you in 3? then your in for a real treat... )
Enemy movements not registering, often resulting in your opponent vanishing from sight and suddenly reappearing 20ft to the left -_-
Particularly bad on the faster classes (Assaults) and EVERY SINGLE ELDAR DURING A DODGE EVER!!
Most weapons and items do not function properly, hell... most of them still have "Placeholder" tags (literally, their icons say placeholder)
Everything about mutha fuckin melee needs a big ole exterminatus
Mapping if borked, characters get stuck on everything, and attempt to attach themselves to everything else as "cover" routinely screwing your combat.
So many missing features and game modes.
I could go on and on.

Admittedly i only have 13ish hours played and only 100% maxed Chaos, attempted Orks but they're bugged >.>

Why can Warhammer just not get the right publishers for their stuff. Or is the game industry really just this horrible...
