    As a reminder :

Alpha with the Dogfighter module is still scheduled for december.

Alpha slots are going down FAST now.
Only 4,300-ish as I write when it was 5k+ yesterday and 10k+ a week ago.

How to participate in the alpha ?

Simple, make a pledge NOW :

The cheapest way to get in the beta is the digital mercenary package : $40
Grants alpha, beta access. Gives the full game on release. Your own ship ready for you with 3 month insurance.

Any higher package also gives full access.

I got my own heavy bomber now :

And my new fighter is a super hornet :

Both Rumour and I have Constellations and Super Hornets, he's also got an additional 325A.

Definitely jealous of the retaliator, if I could have swapped my Connie for it I definitely would have, but my Connie is in the Rear Admiral package.

I got the BH package. Was hesitating with arbiter but it's 15$ more for a variation of the ship.

I see that colonel + have multi-people ships, that looks interesting !

Your ship can be upgraded to what the 325a has.
But the advantage of buying the arbiter package instead of upgrading later, is that your ship insurance covers the ship as you get it.
Thus, the +15$ of the arbiter translates to a better equipped ship when replaced.
You'll be able to buy insurance for your upgrades separately though when game launches.

And yes, multi people ships are very promising.
I think I can have a crew of 6 on my bomber. 1 pilot and 5 turrets. Got a control & command post aboard apparently too.
You will be able to hire NPC to crew your ship's stations, or use your own designed NPC if you buy future NPC slots.
Friends will be able to jump in and replace your NPC crew when playing.

ALPHA SLOTS LEFT : 3,640 as of this writing.

Absolutely, but we don't know what they mean exactly by that, nor which part of the alpha ?
    Dogfighting module ?
    Planet side module ?
    Squadron 42 module ?
    Persistent universe module ?

Hit $25 million a couple hours ago. They only just hit 24 Thursday night....

  9. Chris Roberts is a master of stringing people along

  10. Star Citizen has my spider sense tingling. Which leaves it strictly in the believe it when I see it category.

You need to get that spider sense checked out, it's malfunctioning.

We've already got the hangar out, AMD and NVidia are both raving about what they're doing with SC, Cloud Imperium has bought multiple physical offices, and we're on track for dogfighting by the end of the year. There's very little reason to suspect vaporware, if any.

  12. I dont mean vaporware exactly, just the never ending extension of pre-order features and things.

"Well if you give us $10-15 more Dollars now then we can give you this!"

  13. Fable also wasn't vaporware either.

They've said this numerous times: Everything up to the $23 million point was already planned. $23 million was the budget where Chris Robert's vision of Star Citizen was possible. Everything past that enables them to go into the "we want to do this" category. You'll see that the for quite a few of the next milestones it'll be all modeling work, that's because the art team is one of the few places where adding people actually does get more stuff done.

Fable also had a publisher that made the entire venture profit-orientated as opposed to crowd-funding where there is no publisher overhead. Apples to carrots.

News just came down that the M50 and Starfarer will both be going back up for sale sometime before the LTI cutoff.

    Damn it.

Now I've got to decide Cutlass vs Starfarer...

Oh I never disagreed with the idea that they're masterful at stringing people along.

It obviously works, anyway, right? So why not try and squeeze every penny out of people.

And hell, if it ultimately results in a great game, because of the extra funding, then I'm all for it.

I mean i preorder and all but i won't put extra $$ to buy ships that i don't know anything aboot ? I mean, buying in game items for a game that isn't even developed is like a huge bargain for me lol.

  20. Kickstarting is never a good consumer bargain. You invest in a game because you like the 'idea' and you have the free cash sitting around. Even more so if you ever go over 60 bucks.
