went to a beautiful place and took photographs.
used a d90 along with a nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.8G lens. thought I might as well share. critiques are welcome.

sorry in advance if you have lepidopterophobia.

these are the resized versions. my personal favourite would be the first one.

also, I am extremely jelly of people who are able to take in-flight photographs of anything. I tried all day, but got squat, except for some rather poor shots.

  3. I really like that second picture. Looks spectacular. Good job !

  4. Yeah the quality of these photos are awesome. How much did that camera run you?

    thanks a lot everyone.

I believe the body and lens together cost about 720. Definitely not purchased new.

  6. Damn :p I was hoping to get a camera, a good one, for out next family vacation but damn :p

yeah, the price for the body is really high. photography is an extremely pricey hobby if you're looking for professional shots, especially when looking at higher end lens that require you to shell out thousands of dollars.

although, nokia makes really amazing camera phones like the e75 and N8. I've used the latter and the quality of the lens is really just something else. it's a good way to save money if you like photography.

it's a lot more convenient than carrying around a large bulky nikon everywhere.

  8. Well do you have any recommend anything in a mid price range that take a decent quality picture?

    digital SLR or a point-and-shoot?

or a phone camera, like the ones I listed (combining them all might save money if you're looking for a new phone+camera at the same time :D)

if point and shoot, I'd lead you to here. I personally just have something I got on sale at wal-mart that looked decent since I wouldn't be as sad if it got lost or stolen.

  11. I have no idea what the digital SLR means but the point of shoot one seem a bit, low tech. :p

wow samhamwich, those are really good photographs. The poses are hysterical, last one's my fave.

I see. dslr is just digital single lens reflex, just fancy terms for the cameras that use a mechanical mirror system. definitely not low tech!

I suggest getting a nikon d40, it's the perfect starter, and great for the price.
    check out this here~

  13. Yeah that seems to fit the build, thanks Eda. I'll start saving now. :)
