    They have them on some battleships ;) been there for a while
     
  7. old rail guns..new railguns..no comparison. They are much smaller..higher velocity.. the power systems are much more compact and deliver more juice...they are safer.

    This is not your daddys railgun

    no you're right. The newest generation is impressive... what little the public knows about it. Shooting a solid chunk of metal at the speed those new things fire, cheap munitions, uses excess power from the reactor core stored in batteries, or theoretically couple directly to both cores on a carrier for wicked power- This weapon is theoretically designed to sink enemy ships with a single shot. I don't know about any unclassified testing. man, I wouldn't want to go against the US Navy.
