The light wouldn't be able to escape the headlamps. It'd float/bounce around in there until the vehicle slowed down. If the light somehow escaped the headlamps, then it would hit the ground or whatever is around and the driver wouldn't be able to see it, because in the time it takes for the light to hit an object, the vehicle would've already flown past it.
