  5. that wow one, holy shit how can you even enjoy the game, you cant even see it lol

  6. Yeah, that's a little overcrowded there.

Sadly, most folks don't enjoy MMOs anymore, just want to get to the "end" and skip to whatever gets them the best items. Shrug.

To be fair, that UI is an example of the user probably not being very good and doesn't realize several sets of information are being displayed... twice.

  8. I know :D. It was just to prove a point. I think that Druid took the SS just to be a troll.

  9. The games lend themselves to it.

  10. MMO's have shifted from being a visual experience (their original intention), to a game of stats and probabilities - many of the hardcore gamers would be better off going back to pen and paper style role-playing games, if numbers are all their after.

  11. When I was a Dungeon Master, I didn't care for number crunchers, ..people were doing that years before PC games.
they dont "play" the game..they break it all down to numbers....then complain about graphics.

Meanwhile, I'm quite enjoying my latest Action-MMO, taking my sweet time and removing the UI whenever I run somewhere :D

  13. This. As someone who played and still plays PnP RPGs, Number Crunching while it exist is generally frowned upon. It is a natural "gaming" instinct now to try and optimize every character we receive, and race against other people via meaningless numbers yet this is a problem set up by the mmo model/concept currently. Even in most PnP, characters can't fight themselves out of every fight, and there is always an omnipotent god that can strike down players who get out of hand/metagame. You are kept in check by other players, yet the system currently set out by MMO rewards the killing/number crunching mentality more than the other aspects such as collecting/exploring/roleplaying.

Basically people have been trained to crunch numbers, and now that is what they believe they should do for every MMO that comes out, and MMO will continue this trend as long as it makes money because it is easier than making a number-driven MMO than any other kind of game design(loosely speaking).

  17. Removing UIs in some games give GREAT background images (desktop I mean).

  18. Image is win. As for the armor bonus for going topless their is none. Now there is a stun. Its 1+1 per cup size.
