C.U.B.E. (Camelot Unchained Building Environment) worked as expected, and was a great surprise to many of our Alpha Backers. Since we put it up, our Backers have spent thousands of hours on new creations (I’ve attached another early CUBE building to this email).

Basically C.U.B.E is what you will be able to use to create your own structures.

Was pretty impressed when I opened the new letter and saw that picture. Not much of a creator/crafter in the Minecraft sense but I should give it a go to see what I can end up making.

Building this way is interesting, BUT do we really need houses to look like this in CU?

I'm in favor of them giving us a "bag" of parts for a specific type/function of building and then allowing use to assemble those parts how we want. So that when I make my house, it's unique to me, but it still resembles the art/style/function of the rest of the Realms houses.

    Need vs Want!

Now do we need it? No, but something that DAOC housing came up with before the other boys that there besides like UO. Was a housing zone that you could buy what house you wanted customize it add in things you wanted and needed.

They could add in a zone like that, that you can buy the plots or plot like in DAOC combine them and build HUGE massive guild houses and so on. I think that would be cool.

But in Open world pvp? If you can build keeps and shit, count me out on that one. I would spend days, weeks, months building up fortresses so that when people walk up to them they are going to need 2k people to take it down. It would end up causing a stalemate, and eventually the game would die out because the only way to go PVPing at that point would be to do open ground warfare.

    So TL DR,

Cool idea keep it in the housing areas, don't make it something we do our self's for keep seigeing and so on.

Curious, did anyone here drop the megabucks for a land plot via founders?

I wonder how they are going to handle ruin clean up. How are we policing griefing and keeping people from building crazy things that don't belong ( e.g. a phallus). Good ole mine craft server admin sorts of things. I don't think /rollback is gonna work....

This badass building system would be totally pointless in a 'safe zone' that no one would go to. If your creations don't have an effect on the population and world at large.. and you cannot pvp out of them... they would be truly pointless.

    Well then,

I agree but I disagree. I will say at this point, I can see where it would be fun, the more I play around with CUBE.

On the BALANCING side of things, like I was getting at. Letting a guild or someone build to their own hearts content without a system to degrade or work down the power it could bring, would be devastating to this game. Even Crowfall is going to have a server reset every so often they have mentioned in their notes. Also as a person of Archage you should see the disadvantages to this as our keep, took a very VERY serious force to get as far as they did into it, and still most screamed broken. As much as I want it to be impenetrable I would like to see some weaknesses,

This is something I think is going to be needed or there will be powerhouses like our self's who can bring the backing to support the "monstrosity" if you will, that could be built. Allowing it to never be crushed. Now lets add in the part where, we can also build or use it to defend a important part of the map. Then what? The Realm defends it, we defend it, meaning back and forth action and/or a stalemate just like I said. Just like Prime time on ESO, with no one going anywhere. Or Guild Wars 2, where it was like "Fuck this lets go to another map til their zerg pulls out" Meaning the degrading of the game and people eventually leaving, til it goes free to play. Just a thought though. Hopefully the guys that are working on this game thinks of things like this, and puts checks and balances.

For my last bit here, and this is directed right at you @Asan Drakus, and some others.

Calling someone's Logic ridiculous because he is trying to see the possible effects of something in a game while you can't or wont. Is in itself ridiculous. As a person, that works day in and out with a team of people analyzing and trying to see every direction of something, and its outcomes, it is shameful to see a person such as yourself. Lower yourself to a unprofessional manner in being able to talk to someone., and you do it often. I guess there is a reason why I'm a analyst, and you are a business man. You care about one or two things at a time, to protect your investment. I try to see everything as a whole.

Sadly I just lowered myself to your level, but to me finally, enough is enough and something had to be said. Check yourself and come back again when you are willing to see the other persons side. Instead of instantly blowing it off, and making your own comment, and insulting someone. Like you seem to always do.
