Why? It said short teaser it's not even a trailer just a few short sections of scenes they have finished.
Personally, I hated the teaser. I am a fan of JJ Abrams scifi movies and I have faith he can pull off a great SW movie, but some of the ideas I see in this teaser just seem dumb to me. But perhaps that is just because I do not have enough info to go on.
Some scenes feel like they're literally from a parody. The facial expression on the stormtrooper, the rolling ball droid, the hunky vehicle that chick is on, and the lightsaber before I saw that it's just a safeguard for the hands/arms (too many arms getting chopped off).
That teaser is awesome. It was more star wars like than the whole I,II,III nonsense. They also put the miniature of Battlefront, it looks epic, can't wait for tomorrow's teaser they said it's 100% in game, not CGI and i can't believe my eyes. I fear it'll require 2x980TI tho.

No, it does seem odd. The second trailer hints at him being a major or minor character though, not just some random trooper. I believe the purpose is also to show there are actual people in those suits of armor, getting away from the clones that made of the majority of troopers in the original trilogy and all troopers of the prequel trilogy.
