Unusual Charge on Bank Statement

  1. I recently purchased the Imperial Edition of ESO and this is what showed up on my bank statement:

    79.99
    855.296.3170ELDRSC CHK CARD PUR 855-2963170 MD 006143

Now I got another charge on that same card today that appears as this:

    $119.88
    050687724197-SOE*COMMERCE

This second charge I have no idea what it is since I haven't purchased anything from Sony since Station Cash in PS2 last year? Has anyone else who preordered ESO had any weird charges like this appear on their card or anyone from the PS2 division?

  2. SOE = Sony Online Entertainment like you said, which has nothing to do with ESO.

  3. But its the same letters.

I don't know how it works for you murrrcans, but can't you contact your bank and ask exactly who requested those transactions?

Maybe go check your transaction log on your SOE account and see what that says? In either case, if it's not you who've bought anything, I'd definitely contact the bank and tell them what's up.

  5. Good catch, decoy.

  6. Crap does that auto renew?

Oh yeah it does renew until u kill it. Depending what u chose when u signed up, by default it's auto-renew.. Check ur SOE account.

  8. yep that was it, now to wait till they open at 10am PT to see if I can get my money back. Doubtful, but I haven't logged into PS2 in like 4 months, so maybe.

Yeah, as long as you explain that without getting antsy or bitchy, most companies are lenient. I've had that happen before.

  10. They were cool and refunded the money and made sure it was cancelled. The CSR said that the account was flagged as cancelled the day the initial payment was made meaning that I ordered the one year subscription and then immediately cancelled it so that it would not auto renew the next year, but for some reason it auto renewed anyways. I don't remember doing that but he says I did and that it should not have billed me. Oh well, Sony fixed it so now worries anymore.

Thankfully it wasn't some ESO snafu, that would have sucked.

  11. Someone got my wife's card and spent $400 on EA's site, bank helped and got us our money back. So I know the feeling.

  12. Glad we got to the bottom of this... I was thinking possibly!
