  1. A lot of people are calling the early game boring and slow. They feel like there should be a lot more action, mob pack after mob pack or something. They don't want a chat dialog holding them before and after quests. They don't want to run an infiltration mission where they aren't asked to kill something. They want to be able to kill a pack of mobs for exp and have that be better than questing as an option. They are kind of right from a stance of a normal MMO player. Coming in looking for another TES game, I got what I expected. I don't really see starting off in a jail cell and having to go through 2-3 dialog trees before my first fight to be a downside. The game does have moments and quests where they want you to go through large packs of enemies or a mini dungeon and that feels like it should, but the game isn't unnecessarily filling the map with opposition to imitate that feel all the time and I'm happy with that.

A lot of TES players aren't calling the game boring or slow... they are annoyed they can't go the wrong direction right off the bat and get one-shot by a frost troll. Yeah the game is gonna hold your hand at first, especially when you consider the other type of player above. At least it opens up after 8-10 I think a lot of those with this complaint won't have it when they are 15-17 and beyond.

adding: So far I'm playing this game like I do other TES games: building up the character I want, grabbing a lot of quests and then deciding which way to go, uncovering the map as I can. I think it feels like it should.

  2. Dont go into four man dungeons with only two people :) and dont stand in the red highlighted areas on the ground :) even if you are the one tanking...

  3. I didn't say it was hard... I said it was terrible.

  4. that statement wasn't in reference to your statement gank, that was me offering some advice to anyone who might think to just try a dungeon with a tank and a dps only, like I did... not advisable.

  5. I solo'd most of the dungeons, and some just waited for pugs to show up towards the end like level 8+. I was also doing level 12 - 15 quests from level 8 - 10. Doesn't matter though now. All that matters is RvR!

I'm playing Sorcerer Destruction tree for anyone that's wondering. :p

P.S. I heard Templar 2h DPS is amazing for solo leveling. I haven't tried it myself...

I quickly got to level 10, and just sitting in this RvR load screen for like 40 mins now! lol

  6. having fun under 10 lvls..still holding judgement till ive played a month or so.

idk how you can judge how you will like it from so little play.
Id not depend on someones opinion when they have played so little. Especially if they talking up another game in another thread. Id question the motive behind a quick opinion.

  7. Maybe some people are more PvP oriented than PvE...

I gotta say, not that impressed with the game....1-10 is extremely slow, especially since most of the quest spawns and dungeon grouping is bugged...

  9. So... you're both right? Dungeons are difficult, but soloable if you enjoy bashing your head against a wall. You are FOS though if you just tell people you can clear them solo but have also died 30 times that you can count. I can juggle eggs, but you will laugh if you watch me do it... and don't look at the ground when I'm done. And yeah, zone chat is a wreck, but you sometimes have to watch the wreck. :mad:_@:

  10. FYI there isn't a "dungeon" for any faction until level ~15. Those caves, mines and rat holes you managed to run through solo with a blindfold on aren't dungeons.

  11. All I can say here is... I don't know what dying looks like in this game yet. Just hasn't happened to me.

Maybe I should go kill myself.

I also haven't run a dungeon yet though. I've stopped at 10 every beta, especially working a lot of weekends.

    busted!

Leoben, crafting is pretty easy, you just need the proper mats.
Break down other Green/Blue /etc items and you will receive the proper mats for improving other things (like honing stone, drawven oils, etc). Enchants are easy, once you have a glyph, right click the appropriate weapon and select enchant. You can also research base traits by breaking down items with traits on them so that you can learn to use it. If you use a glyph, you will need to buy soul shards and use soul trap while fighting to fill them and recharge your glyphs as they run out

My only complaint right now is having enough bank space for all this crafting stuff ! I guess I just need to focus on a couple crafting skills for now until I can afford more space. It wasn't like in Skyrim where I could stuff all my junk in a wardrobe in a random house and it stays there.

There is alot involved in crafting, its complex at first and seems time consuming, but in a way I like it because that it requires some effort.

  14. You can buy larger bags :)

  15. I always considered an instanced based underground structure made entirely of stone with a huge stone door to gain entrance, full of stronger than average mobs that kill anyone who goes in alone, a huge nasty boss at the end who can only be killed(*) by a group and chest full phat loots waiting to be pilfered after the bosses death. In the AD faction you get a quest at level 8 called "Anchors from the Harbor" that sends you to an island off the coast of Mathiisen where there is a "Dungeon" that you are required to group up for and kill a boss named Doshia. Not grouped up you go in right next to someone who is also solo and when you both enter the other person disappears however if you both leave and group up and then reenter you can see each other and help each other. Sounds like a instanced dungeon to me?

    (*) Disclaimer
Not to include a solo wipe fest dying 30+ times to complete. Thats just asinine.

Crafting is actually really easy once you figure it out.... break stuff down for mats (better than farming nodes) and remake something new...
Was anyone else having issues instancing into "dungeons" with a group? All day it was bugged for me with multiple groups... i quit playing because I couldnt complete like 4 quests that required going into said "dungeons".... dont care for wiping 30 times to complete a few dungeons...

  17. guild(fighter mage ETC) ones I could not share and had to solo..all the others i could share and enter as a group.

  18. When you break a iron sword down, do you get iron ingots back?

Trouble having zonning in to instance based dungeon - YES, we would go in and everyone would be invisible, but you could see the arrows above their heads, tried with about 4 different groups at different times.

  19. If I have to clean this thread one more time I will just begin temp banning people who do not understand conflict resolution. Some of you need to relax. It is a game. Get along with your guild mates, bite your tongue or get the fuck out. Period.
