No just wait for an invite if you dont have a Legacy account.

Are they still going with a subscription model on this? I really don't see how they can justify it with so many quality MMOs on a F2P model.

    What quality MMOs? =]

  7. Please do tell, I'd rather go F2P right now.

Got mine! If you signed up for Beta and didnt get one, don't be discouraged as they may be only doing legacy accounts in Phase I.

  10. Fingers crossed, not holding breath though - might pass out.

Sad thing is - I did the original FF14 beta too, but I don't remember what account it was under. Booo, not sure if that would have mattered anyway.

  12. I are confused, is this a new game, a game reboot or an expansion...? I only briefly played FF14 before so I am unclear and it seems I haven't been able to find this info on their site as it is not very specific.

  13. It is a little bit of all of the above. It's a new game engine, same world base, same characters if you have one, however the whole thing got a complete overhaul from the UI down. As for content it's sort of an expansion in that it is new story and content, however it's not being sold as an expansion persay. If you have a pre-existing account you should not need to repurchase or rebuy anything other than resub when the time comes.

    ^^^^
    This

And they are the only company I can ever recall in this day and age of finger pointing and buck passing who came out and said, we're sorry, we totally fucked up and sold you a shit game. Please let us make it up to you...

  15. I'd call it more of a HUGE update/patch.

If you have an account you will be able to change your character's gender, race, and looks. They also added 3 new race/gender so to speak, as well as a new battle class, among all the other content I am too lazy to mention. LuLz. Also if you are somehow lucky to find a copy of FFXIV right now, you will still be able to use the Authentication Code to get into ARR free of charge.

Hey Sogetsu have you tried looking into Old emails and such? Did you ever buy a copy of the game?

  17. No I didn't. It was for beta only and I was not impressed with it so I never bought retail, I tried using my current emails but I think Square swapped to new account system since beta.

  18. Been hearing positive things from sites that have been previewing. Sadly I don't think I am going to get into this round of beta.

Here's a radical idea! How about we NOT form a division for this game? No drama, no secret squirrel club, play with who you want, etc. If a few of us end up on the same server and decide to roll together, then we could fly the XoO flag but not make it all über official (political). People can join and leave freely, no application process, no interviews, no jumping through hoops. You play in game and meet some cool peeps, invite em in and have a good time. Alleviate any potential issues by posting FFXIV Forum in the Public Forums.

Too much drama for your mama has led me to this ludicrous notion...
