Bethesda’s Next Project Is Oblivion Sequel

Discussion in 'Upcoming Game Chatter' started by doctorie, Nov 26, 2010.

  1. I like open ended/sand boxy stuff but I'm way to ADD to actual finish them. I think I only finished elder scrolls III on my xbox. Fallout, Oblivion, etc I've never actually finished heh.

  2. The main stories actually arnt to long, its all the side questing that gets just crazy. Why cant MMORPG follow in elder scroll concepts. Could u imagine a MMO elderscrolls, wow!

  3. Would degrade the actually Elder Scrolls series imo.

I love side quests and the guild events in Oblivion, main quest was short compared to the rest.

Careful what you wish for, you may get it ;)

  5. everyone would be running around with chameleon 100 sniping with daedric arrows at max range.

  6. Yeah games like Mortal online and Darkfall wanted to make a game close as a TES 3 Morrowind MMO!

But its ok to Some games not to be MMO, Diferent games for diferent peole.

I dont want my TES games to be MMO, ill not mind a TES MMO, but as long as they still do solo games.

  7. Niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Daggerfall was much more ambitious than Morrowind/Oblivion... not exactly an easy feat, but it was. Unfortunately this may mean TES has gone downhill. :(

There is yet time to reverse the trend though. If TES V is as large as Daggerfall while still looking halfway modern, it will be quite impressive.

  9. The price of the DLC was pretty ridiculous for Oblivion imo, but it was nice to see that Bethesda supported their product for such a long time.

  10. Was this "the horse" DLC?

  11. At one point it would have cost $80 for all of the DLC.

  12. Ridiculous.
    Bundle Discount please.

  13. Yeah but if you count the expantions as DLC!

but still i personaly Hate DLC i buy it though, but back then DLC was less common i think, now DLC are somewhat cheaper. or only a small amount of their playbace buys it.

  14. So, as soon as they announce it they have a release date for next Armistice Day. Hope they're mostly done already.

  16. It has its up and downs. Its available and you don't have to pay a whole lot for it since you don't have to pay for the making of the disc, box, paper ect ect. I personally wouldn't mind if all my console (XBox) games where DLC, they take up to much damn space :p

  17. Yes, I just like digital downloads in general, not having all that packaging, but being able to pull out a CD and just install and not always having to worry if your account got stolen or if it is somehow still (the game) in your database!

There are some ridiculous pricings though for some DLC out there.

All I have to say about the next elder scrolls is that I am totally waiting for it. I played Oblivion, man was I lost for like 200+ hours. Now from thinking about this I want to play it. Here is a link to the next Elder Scrolls, it is a teaser http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNLKLCZN8wc

    Enjoy

  19. Pretty ballsy setting a release date this far out

  20. Considering they will use a modified FO3 engine, i think the times for development are some what shorter.
for example, games like ME and ME2, and now ME3, are around 2 years apart.
Games like TES3 and TES4, are 4+ years apart because of the jump in tecnologies.

Now with a good group of People Working on a engine that they are used to use.
the time is 2008-2011 that 3 yeras enogh time to get the righting team to do some cool stuff.

i hope they change the leveling sistem.
i dont mind the skill sistem that level up if you use it.
but the stats sistem that always screws up my stats. its something i hate.

a mix of Fo3 and TES4, could be the awnser for players like me.
BTW ill take the Fo3 leveling sistem any time before the TES one.
