    Listen to the following question:

Who's the more foolish: The fool, or the fool who follows him?

Please answer with well reasoned, thought out responses.

    Discuss! :D

  2. So basically,

    Fool
    or
Fool who is in action following.

Individuals have their own reasoning and decisions.
A fool who followed blindly without questioning or reasoning is more a fool, than a fool who did not blindly follow.

Thus the fool is less a fool than the fool who follows.

  3. The fool is equal to or greater than the fool who follows it.

  4. Greater than or equal to 42.

  5. I would have to say the follower. Classic christain syndrom. I now reffer you to the following clip. Now for an example, if the fool desired to jump off a bridge, the follower (we are assuming) knows that he will not survive but does it any way in spite of rational thinking. Now assuming the follow does not know any better then the saying stands true, "Ignorance is bliss".

Star Wars was written in a time after the word fool had lost it's positive meaning.

  7. Fool has never had a positive meaning. Sorry, not to mention that has nothing to do with the question.

The fool of course. "fools who follow" are obviously not capable of the intellect to actually discover the fool for their false ideals. Specially if that fool is a skilled orator.

Though the question can be given out in equal weight. If the fool believes in an ideal as much as the fool who is listening to them then they are both equally foolish. The only fool is the one who doesn't question. Then if they believe or don't believe it doesn't matter since IF they questioned it, with an open mind, and by their own reasoning they came to the same conclusion as the "fool" who created the idea then they themselves aren't a fool due to logic. The problem is that most people DON'T question anything they take it on trust/faith/whatever the fuck you want to call it. Therefore they are then a fool.

to be quite fair, "fool" has several non insulting applications but none of them are really used. However, "foolish" pretty much just insults the person's intellect.

It sounds like a part of question taken out of context. There's nothing clearly identifying who or what "it" is. Is he referring to the fool as "it"? If so, who is the fool and what action has the fool taken that makes him or her the fool?

    Quite foolish...all of "it".

Can the fool who says he is a fool can still be considered a fool ?

All this talk of "Fools", and you still havent said what flavour and brand it is...

I mean if you followed a nice mellow strawberry fool with a sharp gooseberry fool then you are asking for trouble...

  12. I would say the fool who follows because the first fool is taking a new path discovering as he goes and does not know where the path leads. the one who is following can see what has been done how it fails and still does the same.

if a fool jumps out off of a cliff with a wing suit thinking he will land on the ground without harm and ends up smashing on the rocks then he was wrong. if some else comes along see what that person did before him and does the same thing then he is a far bigger fool.

  13. Like a person claiming to be insane really know they are insane. Crazy talk....

  14. but what if they have a doctors note?

  15. Why don't you ask the Master of fools himself:

Believe what you want, you seem to have made up your mind.

  17. I wonder what that key is for round Master T's neck.

P.s - Yes, I am aware I called him master. Fool.

The key to your heart? =]

  19. if one fool follows another fool off a cliff..they are equally dead

  20. The cliff example is terribly over simplified and just foolish to use in an argument. The star wars comment was easily based on ones religion but overall you can put it to pretty much anything. Even idiots jumping off of cliffs.

I like docs example. Though I guess one can then argue if they are dead or dead fools.
