So anyone know how to access my modem?

    I just can't figure this shit out. I'm having connection problems in certain games and I'm positive it's because of this new modem.

    It's from Verizon, a Westell, Model 7500 (A90-750015-07). This is a modem/router, so I thought by going into 192.168.1.1 and shutting down the router firewall I would be fine, however this is not the case.

    Lets talk about League of Legends for a second. After the champion selection is over, the client doesn't load up right away. There is about a 30 second delay and an error message pops up saying that there is a firewall somewhere blocking my connection. However, if I click 'retry' the client then loads up instantly. Connection problem involving Vindictus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VK0eUjtjZDY

    Both these programs are added to the exceptions of my Windows Firewall and there is no router firewall on, yet I still have a firewall up and running somewhere?

    Our old router, was not a secured network either. This new one is. Maybe this might be blocking some traffic? I can't even access the internet on my Wii with this Westell.

    Any ideas on what's up with this?

    Try this: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Westell/A90-750015-07/League_of_Legends.htm

    I already have all ports forwarded as they were with my previous router.

  4. Had a problem with this in Huxley. It has to do with your TCP or UDP protocal or something along those lines. Try switching that up within your options.

  6. Linksys and such are 192.168.1.1, many others are 192.168.0.1

    But those are router addresses. I dont know how to connect directly to the modem itself or if it is even possible to get in there with your unit. But modems dont have firewalls, the router portion would.

    Verizon is just crap internet anyway and has problems like that. There might not be anything you can do.

  7. Modems do not have firewalls, routers do. Find me in TS3 tonight or tomorrow and I can help troubleshoot it.

    Eh, well I just figured since this happened when we switched from a belkin router to this new one, still was with verizon previously.

    But right now I'm not on my regular computer. Waiting for a new processor and power supply to arrive in the mail, so hopefully I'll have my regular desktop up and running by Monday.

    Do you guys think that being a secured network would have anything to do with it? I mean since I can't connect with my Wii, there is definitely something in here blocking traffic.

    Mine is actually 192.168.254.254.

    Is a better port scanner, make sure there isn't an apply button or some sort on the settings screen where you turned off the firewall. Also just to be safe try turning on the DMZ.

  10. Nowadays the lines get very smudged;

    My Westell 6100 is a combination DSL modem and router; It has NAT capabilities, but one port onry;

    My M-I-L has a different Westell (it's a 4-port LAN + Wireless AP + Router + DSL Modem) (7500 rings a bell, but it might not have been). We had my Brother In Law's Wii and Game Boy (DSi?) working with it too - just had to make sure we put in the code we set for the wireless into both devices.

    (Separately, It took me FOREVER to figure out on my Wii that I kept forgetting two digits, felt like a moron after that).

    FYI - some WEP related information is here: http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/HighSpeed/Networking/SetUp/VersaLink7500/121831.htm

    Westell Model 7500 is a combination Modem/Router.

    OP: Try running the following test :http://www.pingtest.net/

    Can you post your results? (Line Quality inc. MOS, Ping, Jitter, and Packet Loss.) Can you run the test a couple times to different servers?

    Did you check my original reply to make sure you had all the ports open?

    I noticed every server was 250 packets sent, 249 received.

    EDIT: Here are my results on my computer couple days before the processor died;

    The computer I'm on now is directly hooked up, while my computer is wireless.

    Ugh, apparently all my ports are closed. This Westell is a hunk of junk. Forwarded and everything but nothing.

  14. My point is you don't access the modem, at least not without hacking it.
