At first it will be voluntary for porn sites to one on this domain. Many wont for fear of being blocked and censured much easier. I bet eventually all will be moved over.
I think it's a bad idea if the move is eventually forced. Who is to say what is porn and what isn't, what is decent and what isn't. While I don't support it, I don't think a company like planned p.h. should be forced to go to a xxx site even though it deals with the exact same subject matter. As long as it's voluntary it's fine, but the porn industry will retain all of it's .coms, .nets, .orgs dot whatever's simply to stay on top of those google searches.
Id go a step further..if you can Imagine it....there is porn for it..even if just anime porn. Tentacle furry rape?... anyone?
Well, I don't think the .XXX really matters. As no company is going to switch their content from a .COM to .XXX as they are still legitimate businesses and more than likely don't want to be considered a back alley operation. My guess is, this was simply a name grab and people are just going to try and buy up as many big name sites as there are only to attempt to extort the companies with the .COM address into buying the rights.
