XP so far has been one of MS's best GUI OS's.... I had issues with windows 95, ME, 98, 98 SE (although 98 SE was probably the best pre XP), ME, NT4, win2000... NT4 and win2000 were fine for servers, not so great IMO for desktops.. I am a linux / unix fan, but honestly, I won't bash XP as far as desk tops go... And with Vista being it's replacement... sorry I will keep XP for now
Yeah the word on the street is that Vista is a holdover O/S and in about a year and a half they are going to be coming out with what Vista should have been, essentially Xp version 2. This is only rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt. But, Vista was supposed to have an entirely different file system and the only promised thing that they came through with was the "search bar" on the Vista start menu. That and they made the security retardedly annoying to stop more spyware.
